Moving is one of the top 5 most stressful life events. Packing up a lifetime of things, furniture and memories and transplanting them to a new location has a lot of moving pieces involved… and nothing ever seems to go 100% smoothly. This week, I moved for the second time in the span of a year (the last move was March 2013). For someone who likes to find a great space and nest, moving is quite low on the list of things I would willingly put myself through.
Stuff happens though… and circumstances arose that required me to search for a new place earlier than expected. Since the summer, I have been living in various states of construction. It was loud, unpredictable, and generally inconvenient… but I’m a patient girl, so I stuck with it as long as I could.

When it finally came to moving, I made a smart choice for myself and hired movers. Moving in the coldest part of winter isn’t ideal, and there was no way I was asking my dear friends to slog through snow and slush to get me to my new home, so hiring movers was as much for me as it was for my pals. You’re welcome.

Long story short – The move was fast, convenient, easy, and probably the least stressful move of my life. And now, the fun part – Unpacking and making it a home.
