I’ve been in my new apartment for 2 months now and the hanging of curtains has been confounding me… UNTIL TODAY.
The walls in my building are a mixture of cement, plaster and metal, so when I tried to install curtains the traditional way… things ended up looking like this:

After some internet research about how to hang curtains without putting holes in walls, and after living with a short curtain push-pinned into my ceiling…

… I gathered all the supplies needed to get this working TODAY. The Solution? 3M Hooks. I bought a crap ton of 3M hooks, and used some standard curtain rods that fit directly into those 3M hooks… and Magic Happened.

The curtains were super long, so I got lazy and used some iron-on fusible tape to get things done quickly. Everything is the right length and if I ever need to make adjustments to them again, it should be easy to fix!
Feeling more like a grown-up today… and no more peeping Toms!

They look lovely Jennn!
The thing with this building is that it is such an enormous pain to drill into the walls! I have shelves upon shelves that are unhung because I can’t work up the nerve to start drilling. I mean I have the right kind of drill bit and all, but it’s still a giant pain.
I am making it my mission to hang the shelf over my bathroom door by the time this long weekend is up. Please hold me accountable!
